14. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Item 14a <br />Z-93-50. La_guna Oaks Bernal Avenue Bfid_ge/The DeSilva Group <br />ApnHcation for desin review approval for the additional bridge across the Arroyo de la <br />Laguna to be constructed immedlatelv south of the existing bridg_e located on Bernal <br />Avenue between Foothill Road and the Bernal Avenueft-680 Interchange. Zonim~ for the <br />prO_perry is lrU'D (Planned Unit Development} - Low Density Residential (SR93:458) <br /> <br /> Brian Swift presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Council discussed the total costs of the bridge and the terms of the proposed <br />reimbursement agreement. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr expressed concern about an agreement with no time limit. She also inquired <br />regarding what happened about removing the old bridge foundation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Higdon indicated FEMA is stffi reviewing the proposal and a determination should <br />be known in February 1994. <br /> <br /> Jim Summers, project engineer for DeSilva Group, gave a brief history of the <br />requirements for and design of the bridge. He indicated twenty years would be adequate for the <br />term of the reimbursement agreement <br /> <br /> Joy Schomo, 12 Foothill Place, thanked Council for its cooperation in preserving the old <br />bridge. She asked that action be taken to have it declared a historical landmark to ensure that <br />it is permanen~y preserved. She also had a few questions and suggestions about the proposed <br />design for ~e new bridge. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Dennis, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that Resolution No. 93-149, be <br />adopted, approving the design of the Bernal Avenue Bridge (Case Z-93-50) as set forth in the <br />staff report. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mob_r, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 14b <br />Water Rate Ad_iustment (3R93:466) <br /> <br /> This item was continued. <br /> <br />12/14/93 - 8 - <br /> <br /> <br />
