Council discussed the total costs of the bridge and the terms of the proposed reimbursement agreement. Ms. Mohr expressed concern about an agreement with no time limit. She also inquired regarding what happened about removing the old bridge foundation. Mr. Higdon indicated FEMA is stffi reviewing the proposal and a determination should be known in February 1994. Jim Summers, project engineer for DeSilva Group, gave a brief history of the requirements for and design of the bridge. He indicated twenty years would be adequate for the term of the reimbursement agreement Joy Schomo, 12 Foothill Place, thanked Council for its cooperation in preserving the old bridge. She asked that action be taken to have it declared a historical landmark to ensure that it is permanen~y preserved. She also had a few questions and suggestions about the proposed design for ~e new bridge. It was moved by Ms. Dennis, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that Resolution No. 93-149, be adopted, approving the design of the Bernal Avenue Bridge (Case Z-93-50) as set forth in the staff report.
