She had no objection if the City wishes to <br /> create a new category for consignment stores but would like it to be applied prospectively only ...... <br /> Ms. Salamon asked that Best of Seconds be allowed to continue her business under the same <br /> permit. <br /> <br /> Vie Lund, 234 Main Street, owner of the building for which Best of Seconds is located, <br /> spoke in support of this application. <br /> <br /> Jorge Esquivel, 4576 Shawnee Way, and Kaye D'Aquila, Best of Seconds employee, <br /> 3310 Sorrel Downs Court, also spoke in support for the application. Ms. D'Aquila pointed out <br /> that a large percentage of the business has become or relies on the new garments that they buy. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner felt that Council should be consistent with the treatment of secondhand and <br /> consignment stores. She believed that this should be not be grandfathered in as a retail store <br /> because it is really a second hand store. She did not object to refunding the fee for the permits. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, and seconded by Ms. Dennis, permitting Best of Seconds to <br /> operate as a retail store within an existing building located at 234 Main Street; application fee <br /> is to be refunded. <br /> <br /> The r011 ~all vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico and Mayor Tarver <br /> NOES: Councilmember Scribner <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> 13.
