Mayor Tarver believed that if people do not comply with this ordinance, no fee waiver or other extension should be allowed. Ms. Scribner felt that if the City hires licensed engineers to perform the required building analysis, a property owner who does not comply by the deadline should not be let 'off the hook'. She felt that if the owner does not comply by the deadline, then the occupancy permit should be revoked. Ms. Acosta suggested that Council review these situations on a case-by-case basis. Council always has the right to revoke the occupancy permit if conditions warrant. It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Dennis, to extend the Unreinforced Masonry Building Ordinance deadline until October 17, 1993, for the submission of the building analysis; for those property owners who do not comply by October 17, 1993 deadline, City staff would hire licensed engineers to perform the required building analysis, the cost of which the property owners would be required to pay.
