She said the Internet has some excellent information <br />regarding the year 2000 problem. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver appreciated her comments. He has been talking to staff about the same <br />issues. He said them is considerable information to read. It is a significant issue and the <br />community should be involved. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta said staff is preparing a report to come back to the Council and it will be put on <br />the Internet when completed. She said the City is focusing on contingency plans as well, in case <br />things do not work the way they are supposed to. No one knows what is really going to happen. <br />The City is trying to find a good balance. <br /> <br /> Carole Varela, 3858 Mohr Avenue, commented on the letter written by Becky Marshall. <br />She had many good things to say about Pleasanton, but Pleasanton also has problems. She refuted <br />comments by Jan Batcheller, a former president of the Chamber of Commerce. She also expressed <br />her concern for Mr. Nelson' s situation. <br /> <br /> Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, appreciated the comments made regarding <br />Portuguese Immigration Week, but felt other ethnic groups should also be recognized as well. He <br />also asked Council to appeal the Planning Commissions decision regarding Z-99-25, approving the <br />applicant's request to modify the window treatments.
