REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:09 <br /> p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Pico led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He then <br /> extended his condolences to the family of City employee Paula Wujak on the sudden <br /> death of her parents. He also expressed his sorrow for the losses to the Kennedy family <br /> of John F. Kennedy, Jr., and to the family of Mr. Kennedy's his wife and sister-in-law. <br /> Mr. Pico also acknowledged the 30th anniversary of the first human landing on the moon. <br /> <br /> 2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Sharrell Michelotti, Tom Pico, and Mayor Ben <br /> Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Michael Roush, <br /> City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; <br /> Randall A. Lure, Public Works Director; Scott Erickson, Housing Specialist; Steve <br /> Cusenza, Manager of Utilities; and Bill van Gelder, Traffic Manager. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Becky Dennis was absent and excused. <br /> 3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver requested that item 4I, Approval of City participation in Joint <br /> Powers Authority for Housing Lease-Purchase Program, be moved to Public Hearings and <br /> Other Matters for discussion and that item 4p, Status Report on the Legal Challenge to <br /> Measure P, be discussed in Closed Session. <br /> <br /> 4. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, seconded by Ms. Ayala, that the following <br /> actions be taken on the Consent Calendar: <br /> <br /> a. Approve the City Council Minutes for June 22, 1999 and July 6, 1999. <br /> <br /> b. Accept public improvements for upgrade of Longview Drive water booster <br /> pumping station, Project No. 949007; authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br /> Completion for the subject project; authorize final payment to Goebel Paving, <br /> Grading & Underground in the amount of $2,983.00; authorize payment of the <br /> retention in the amount of $11,968.17 thirty days after filing the Notice of <br />'~ Completion; and approve the allocation of $780 from the water replacement fund <br /> for the subject project.
