Mayor Tarver asked who would like to sign the ballot arguments. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis indicated she would like to sign the argument in favor. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala also indicated she would be willing to sign the argument in favor. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush said Councilmembers have first priority in signing the arguments over <br />non-Councilmembers. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti said she would be willing to sign the arguments in favor. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver delegated the Vice Mayor to coordinate gathering the signatures for the <br />arguments. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico said he would be willing to sign the arguments opposing the measure. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver said he would be willing to sign the arguments opposing the measure. <br /> <br />Item 4d <br />(1} Resolution authorizing application for Federal Transportation Equal Act for the <br />21st Century (TEA21} Funds for various street maintenance projects. (SR99:47) <br /> <br /> Bill van Gelder presented the staff reports. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver had concerns with the 1-680 ramp metering and HOV Bypass at select <br />locations. He did not want to go after 3 million dollars and then potentially have CalTrans say it <br />will do the improvements. He would like the City to be the responsible body regarding the <br />implementation of any ramp metering. <br /> <br /> Mr. van Gelder said he heard CalTrans state if the City were not going to approve the ramp <br />metering then CalTrans would not install the meters. He understands that the City wants to be able <br />to turn off the meters if the process does not work. CalTrans had said it would make the ramp <br />metering work. He said if Council gives the go ahead, staff would put together a technical group <br />in the interim time, before MTC does anything in April. It would include representatives from <br />Castro Valley, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, and Alameda County. The group would make <br />recommendations to the political jurisdictions in regards to what kind of policy steering committee <br />should be formed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis had concerns with people parking at the BART station using bus service only <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 20 03/09/99 <br />Special Meeting - Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
