Addressing the concems has caused a delay in the process. He said there are two choices, <br />rush this through in order to get this on the November ballot or go through a process that <br />is more appropriate for a project of this magnitude. He felt a report could be brought <br />before Council in August. He did not want to rush the process. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver understood what he was saying but felt San Francisco was pushing <br />for a March 2000 election and did not want to wait until November 2000. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lymburn said March is a presidential primary election and felt the turn out <br />would be good. He would discuss a November 2000 election with his Commission, but <br />felt it was not necessary to wait that long. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti said the Planning Commission has only addressed the concems <br />and has not had a detailed discussion of the project itself. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver understood the Planning Commission had a motion on the floor to <br />deny the certification of the Environmental Impact Report, at which time San Francisco <br />asked for a continuation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lymbum said that is correct. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked if he was ready to address the Planning Commission's <br />concerns at its next meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lymbum said yes. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked if the Planning Commission would be finished with the <br />discussion at its next meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift said a response to the concerns about the Environmental Impact Report <br />concern has not been prepared. At the next meeting the Planning Commission is to <br />discuss the twenty-seven issues and try to reach a consensus on those items. If the <br />Council directs the Planning Commission to finish tomorrow evening then it is unlikely <br />that San Francisco would be able to address the concern about the Environmental Impact <br />Report. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked how this delay affects the July 1 deadline with the School <br />District. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lymbum said a letter was written by the School District asking for an <br />extension of time. That will be on the Public Utilities Commission's agenda in a week <br />and he felt that if we could reach an understanding on the timing, that the extension <br />would be approved. <br /> <br /> Matthew Morrison, 5581-A Sonoma Drive, believes that the San Francisco land is <br />contaminated and the Scope of the contaminants has not been fully addressed in the <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 18 07\06\99 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
