Ms. Dennis referred to the notice sent by the Fire Department regarding home sprinkler
recalls. There is a deadline for getting refunds in either July or August and she asked for the City to
run an ad to explain what is necessary for a homeowner to do to get compensation from the
manufacturer of the recalled sprinklers.

Mr. Pico indicated a constituent had requested Council to address gas powered leaf blowers
in residential areas and possibly ban their use. The resident was complaining about the use of the
devices at various hours of the day and wanted the maintenance to be required to use electric
devices. (There was no support on Council to pursue this issue at this time.)

Mr. Roush indicated there is pending State legislation that would preempt cities from
regulating these units.

8.
