Item 8b <br />Discussion re~ardin~, amending the Pleasanton Municipal Code to add an alternate <br />commissioner on the Housing Authority. (SR 94:262) <br /> <br /> Steven Bocian presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, seconded by Ms. Scribner, to approve the staff <br />recommendation to retain the seven member Housing Authority with no alternate. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mohr, Pico, Scribner, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Dennis <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 8c <br />Abandoned GaS Station Sites <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico commended the staff for its action in accomplishing removal of another <br />abandoned gas station structure. <br /> <br />Item 8d <br />MiscellaneouS <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver inquired if Council will have input regarding the proposed theme park on the <br />Fairgrounds. Ms. Acosta indicated Council will receive reports regarding two aspects of <br />fakgrounds activities: 1) approval of commercial activities, and 2) the application for the water <br />theme park. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver then requested staff to contact Michael Friedman about making a presentation <br />to the General Plan Steering Committee on the topic of "liveable cities." He encouraged staff <br />to work with developers to incorporate those concepts in their projects. Ms. Mohr agreed it <br />would be a good idea to find ways to look at the "whole picture". <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver referred to the presentation of David Stiebel about resolving municipal <br />disputes and requested staff to contact Mr. Stiebel to work with the City on public policy issues <br />involving Dublin, Livemore, ACTA, MTC and CMA regarding transportation issues and land <br />use. Ms. Mohr requested the tape from the League on this session. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr requested staff to obtain a tape recording of the presentation of Dan Waiters <br />at the closing luncheon of the League Conference. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver announced the Department of Energy meeting regarding the Livermore Lab <br />on August 8, 1994 at 6:00 p.m at the Livermore Holiday Inn. <br /> <br />08/02/94 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
