MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 19, 1994 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben C. Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Opening Comments.' <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner spoke about the discussion regarding the exclusion of the BART Station at <br />Stoneridge from funding of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and whether the City <br />of Pleasanton should sue them for that action. As she listened to those who spoke at the meeting <br />it became clear to her that the community is divided and there is hostility between the groups. <br />Ms. Scribner stated that it was in 1897 that Boston became the first city in the United States to <br />have a subway. She provided this information to show how far behind the Bay Area was in <br />rapid transit. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Rebecca L. Dennis, Karin Mohr, Dorothy N. Scribner and Mayor Ben C. <br />Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Michael H. Roush, City <br />Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; and Randall L. <br />Lum, Director of Public Works. <br /> <br /> Thomas P. Pico Jr. was absent and excused. <br /> <br />3.
