It was also pointed out that the property would be sold under its current zoning of Public and
Institutional Use. No zoning change is requested by the School District.

Dave Griffith, 5622 Paseo Navarro, presented a handout to the Board and gave a
presentation describing the process used in determining the locations of school sites and used
slides showing student population and distribution. He believed the demographics showed 555
students in the Del Prado area, which justified a school site on the subject property. He urged
the School District not to dispose of this property.

Sue Evans, 5610 Paseo Navarro, presented a handout setting forth "Myths and Facts
about the Del Prado site". She indicated the District has said the propony is too small for a
school site and pointed out the new site at Stoneridge is 2.5 acres smaller. She reiterated the
belief that were enough students to justify a school. Ms. Evans believed the School Board has
not been open and was upset that public notices were not sent to the residents. Ms. Evans
suggested formation of a committee with representatives from the School Board and City Council
along with the residents to review options for this use of the property.

Sally Hill, 6860 Corte Sonada, indicated this property has been planned for a school for
25 years and believed that the price of her house included costs for the land set aside for a
school by the developer. She then cited Sections 39295 through 39298 (attached), which
provided for community involvement in making best use of excess school sites, formation of an
advisory committee and the duties of such a committee.

James E. McDermott, 5598 Corte Sonora, indicated he had worked with the School
Board for years and referred to the disputes which arose when the boundaries for Foothill High
School were established. He indicated part of the conflict resolution was to enter into an
agreement stating that the Hansen property would not be sold for development. He believed he
had a copy of the agreement and would provide it when he found it.

Frank Brandes, 6889 Corte Sonada, agreed with Mr. McDermott about the agreement.
He indicated many people feel strongly that a commitment was made by prior School Board
members that a school would be located in Del Prado and that commitment should be kept. He
also urged Council to prevent rezoning of the site.

John Thompson, 5340 Corte Paloma, reiterated the expectation of a school in the area
when he purchased his house. He further stated there are more elementary-aged children in the
neighborhood now and he could not understand how this property could be declared surplus.

Greg Thome, 1745 Pasco Del Cajon, expressed his support for the Board of Trustees.
He believed the quality of Pleasanton's schools is a big reason people move here and the
Trustees' decision to sell the property should be respected. He indicated the money from sale
of the property could be applied to rehabilitate existing school facilities.

5/31/94 - 3 -
