It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, to have the City Manager (with input from the Mayor) be responsible for preparation of the agenda. The r011 call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarvet NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Removal of Consent Items Mr. Pico believed that one Councilmember should be able to request an item be pulled from the Consent Calendar without having Council majority agree to do so. He strongly opposed the CommiRee's recommendation. Mayor Tarvet and Ms. Scribner briefly explained their opinions/reasons for their recommendation. It was moved by Mr. Pico, and seconded by Mayor Tarver, that any one Councilmember may request that an item be moved from the Consent Calendar to another location on the agenda for further discussion. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarvet NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Delive~ of Agenda Materials Ms. Mohr felt that those agenda materials not received by 8:00 p.m. on Thursday should not automatically be pulled off the agenda. It should be changed to may be pulled off the agenda because certain circumstances may arise where it is impossible to get the materials out in time. After considerable discussion, Council decided that the policy should remain such that as any agenda material not received by 8:00 p.m., Thursday ~i zh~l be continued. Video Tapes Mr. Pico disagreed with maintaining the videotapes for 30 days. He suggested maintaining the videos for two years. It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Ms. Dennis, to maintain the videotape of City Council meetings for two years and the audio tapes for five years; and the retention period for the video tapes will be considered further at the end of two years. 05/17/94 14
