D~I Prad9 School Site <br /> <br /> Sue Evans, 5610 Paseo Navarro, spoke in opposition to the School Board's decision to <br />sell the property adjacent to Hansen Park between Black Avenue and Hansen Avenue. She <br />explained that in the past the residents wanted an elementary school on this site. She asked that <br />the City explore possible uses of this land before it is too late. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver pointed out that Council can place this matter on a future agenda for <br />further discussion and consideration of a change in zoning, but the decision to sell this property <br />is solely the School District's. <br /> <br /> Frank Brandes, 6889 Corte Sonada, briefly explained the history of this land and the <br />many petitions that were circulated in the past regarding it. He agreed that the School Board <br />has made many promises regarding this piece of land and requested that Council consider this <br />item on a future agenda. <br /> <br /> Dave Griffith, 5622 Pasco Navarro, also spoke in opposition to the sale of the Del Prado <br />property by the School Board. He explained the need for a school in the Del Prado area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico asked if a joint meeting between Council and the School Board had been set. <br />He felt that this matter would be best discussed at that time. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta stated that staff has not received an answer from the Board's administrative <br />staff regarding the May 31 dam. <br /> <br /> In response to Ms. Mohr, Mr. Swift explained that this site would be reviewed by the <br />General Plan Land Use Sub-Committee. <br /> <br /> It was decided that this item should be placed on the agenda for the joint meeting with <br />the School Board, assuming the School Board agrees to doing so. <br /> <br />Water Rate Increase <br /> <br /> Pat Stillman, 2934 Kilkare Road, Sunol, spoke about the increase in her water rates. She <br />asked that Council reconsider its decision to raise these rates and arrive at a more reasonable <br />and equitable ram for the Killcare Woods residents. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta explained how the rates were established. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico requested that this matter be reconsidered by Council because of the concerns <br />raised by the citizens. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta pointed out that staff is currently conducting a study regarding the senior <br />rates and will be reporting to Council shortly. <br /> <br />05/03/94 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
