Adopt Resolution No. 93-34, declaring that weeds, rubbish or refuse upon or in <br /> front of certain described properties within the City of Pleasanton constitute <br /> public nuisances and that the same shall be abated, and setting a public hearing <br /> in regard to same. <br /> <br />Th~ r011 call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Scribner <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PIIBLIC <br /> <br /> Frank Berlogar, 5587 Sunol Boulevard; Dean Schenone, 5682 San Luis Court; and <br />Robert Pearson, 3590 Churchill Court spoke about the recent statements that Mr. Pico had made <br />regarding Ms. Mohr's possible conflict of interest in working for the Prudential Realty <br />Company. <br /> <br /> Sharrell Michelotti, 7873 Olive Court, believed that Council should choose Planning <br />Commissioners by their qualifications and not choose them for political reasons. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver encouraged citizens to apply for the current openings on the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico responded to the comments that were made by the previous speakers. He <br />stated that he had been accurately quoted in the press. Citizens have called him and voiced <br />concerns regarding Ms. Mohr' s employment and possible conflict of interest. He felt that it was <br />appropriate that he express the concerns of the citizens to staff. Mr. Pico did not feel that he <br />was doing anything other than what he should do as a representative of the community. He <br />asked if Council would support placing this item on a separate agenda to discuss whether or not <br />it should request a separate ruling from the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and to <br />discuss whether to ask for a stay on the Signature Properties project until there was a ruling. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr explained that when her employer (Harris Real Estate) sold to Prudential <br />Realty, the conflict of interest issue was discussed with Michael Roush, City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver believed that this issue should be resolved by the FPPC. <br /> <br /> Bruce Fiedler, 251 Kottinger, Pleasanton Gardens Manager, The Tri-Valley's member <br />on Alameda County's Senior Needs Assessment Oversight Committee, urged Councilmembers <br />and staff to review the results of the recent study done on senior services.
