Prudential Insurance ComOany and Walmart Stores. Inc. <br />Application for development nlan annroyal to construct an approximately 126.390 sauare <br />foot retail store on a 15.06 acre nortion of a 32.~;1 acre site located at the northeast corner <br />of Hacienda Drive and Owens Drive in the Hacienda Business Park. Zonin2 for the <br />prouertv is PUD (Planned Unit Development} - Mixed Commercial/Office/Industrial <br />Planned Develonment. and Offices District. (SR94:02) <br /> <br />Also consider adoption of a Negative Declaration. <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff repo~. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver indicated that Council received letters from Mr. I-Iacket, Ms. Mann and <br />Ms. Olnay, citizens in Pleasanton, who were opposed to this project. <br /> <br /> Mark Sweeney, Hacienda Marketing and Sales Corp., 4309 Hacienda Drive, 94588, <br />represented Prudential Insurance Company. lVlr. Sweeney described the location where the <br />proposed store would be built using aerial maps. There being no questions regarding Hacienda <br />Business Park, Mr. Sweeney introduced Bob Karn with Greiner Engineering. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr referred to the letter from the City of Dublin regarding traffic impacts. Mr. <br />Sweeney indicated this use would generate fewer peak trips than an office use. <br /> <br /> Bob Kam, Greiner Engineering, 1455 Oliver Road, Suite 200, Fairfield, 94533, <br />representing WalMart, spoke about the site, how the site-plan was created, who and what <br />WalMart is the success of WalMart and its expected accomplishments. He explained what type <br />of merchandise WalMart sells and the benefits it offers to it employees. He presented a <br />computer generated video of the WalMan development. <br /> <br /> Tom Archer, 5454 Cone Paloma, spoke in support of this project. <br /> <br /> Robert Cordtz, 262 W. Angela, asked what type of fleeway sign would be used for <br />advertisement and how the housing needs for the employees would be met. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift described the type and location of the sign. <br /> <br />01/04/94 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
