MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> There were no speakers at this time. <br /> <br /> WORKSHOP <br /> Status Report of Joint Planning Process and Process and Proposed Plan for San Francisco <br /> Water Department Property <br /> <br /> Brian Swift presented an overview of the plan. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis asked if the regional traffic impact were established at a higher fee than $500 <br /> per unit, would San Francisco pay the higher fee? <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift indicated it would not. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis asked how many apartment units were to be built. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift stated it was unclear how many units would be townhouse units or apartment <br /> units. Staff estimates about one-fourth of the high density projects would be apartments or <br /> approximately 400 units. <br /> <br /> Rick Nelson, Project Manager for the San Francisco Water Department, presented more <br /> details of the proposed plan. <br /> <br /> Jeff Grote, The Planning Collaborative, referred to the drawing of the area and pointed <br /> out the features previously discussed. <br /> <br /> MS. Michelotti felt twenty acres for the village shopping center was too large and did not <br /> believe there was anything in Pleasanton that size. She also asked how the hotel would work <br /> into the neighborhood center. <br /> <br /> Mro Grote indicated shopping centers are bigger today than ten years ago. He continually <br /> hears from people in the industry that they want bigger buildings. He also referred to a town <br /> center in Foster City which is anchored by a hotel at one end and indicated that the hotel <br /> generates foot traffic along the pedestrian spine.
