16.4 Enrollment Procedures <br /> <br /> Employees wishing to enroll in the Educational Incentive <br /> Plan must do the following: <br /> <br /> A. Not later than 45 days prior to enrolling in a <br /> junior college, college or university, make written <br /> application to the Education Standards Committee in <br /> order that the Committee may: (1) determine the <br /> employee's eligibility to enroll in the Education <br /> Incentive Plan and (2) determine the job <br /> relatedness of the educational level to be pursued. <br /> The Educational Standards Committee shall inform <br /> the employee in writing of their determination not <br /> later than 30 days following their receipt of the <br /> employee's request to enroll in the Educational <br /> Incentive Pay Plan. <br /> <br /> B. The written application submitted to the <br /> Educational Standards Committee must include the <br /> following: <br /> <br /> 1. A description of the educational level to be <br /> pursued. <br /> 2. Employee's pursuing a specific number of <br /> college credits as set forth in this plan in <br /> lieu of a degree must submit a list of courses <br /> to be taken. Of the college credits <br /> submitted, elective (non-job related), courses <br /> shall not exceed the proportionate number of <br /> elective courses permitted under approved <br /> college degree programs. <br /> <br /> C. Prior to enrollment in a junior college, college, <br /> or university, the employee must have received <br /> written approval from the Educational Standards <br /> Committee as to his/her eligibility to enroll in <br /> the Educational Incentive Plan and the job <br /> relatedness of the educational level to be pursued. <br /> <br /> NOTE: No employee shall receive educational <br /> incentive pay for any educational level attained <br /> unless he/she has received advanced written <br /> approval from the Educational Standards Committee <br /> as set forth in this section. <br /> <br /> D. The junior college, college, or university from <br /> which an educational level is to be received must <br /> be accredited by the Western Association of Schools <br /> and Colleges. <br /> <br />Memorandum of Understanding <br />Page 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
