Section 9. Vacations <br /> <br />9.1 Vacation Eligibility <br /> <br /> All employees in the competitive service shall be <br /> entitled to annual vacation leave with pay except the <br /> following: <br /> <br /> 1) Employees who have served less than six (6) months <br /> in the service of the City. <br /> 2) Employees who work on a provisional basis. <br /> <br /> 9.2 Vacation Allowance <br /> <br /> Effective October 1, 1980, each eligible employee shall <br /> be entitled to vacation with pay in accordance with the <br /> following schedule: <br /> <br /> 1) One (1) through four (4) years of continuous <br /> service - ten (10) vacation days. <br /> 2) Five (5) through ten (10) years of continuous <br /> service - fifteen (15) vacation days. <br /> 3) Eleven (11) through fifteen (15) years of <br /> continuous service - twenty (20) vacation days. <br /> 4) Sixteen (16) years of continuous service and above <br /> - twenty (20) vacation days plus one (1) additional <br /> vacation day for each year of service over fifteen <br /> years of service to a maximum of twenty-five (25) <br /> vacation days. <br /> 5) Accrued vacation shall be credited to the <br /> employee's account upon his/her anniversary date <br /> each year. <br /> 6) An employee, except a probationary employee, may be <br /> allowed to incur a forty (40) hour deficit beyond <br /> the vacation leave credited to his/her account on <br /> his/her anniversary date. A probationary employee <br /> may incur a forty (40) hour deficit in vacation <br /> leave after six (6) months full time satisfactory <br /> service. <br /> <br /> 9.3 Vacation Accumulation <br /> <br /> Effective January 1, 1978, an employee will be allowed <br /> to have an accumulation of no more than two (2) years' <br /> vacation accrual to his credit at any one time. <br /> <br />Memorandum of Understanding <br />Page 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
