Mayor Tarver suggested that this item be put on a future agenda and have the staff give
a complete report.

Ms. Acosta suggested that the matter first be reviewed by the Planning Commission and
be put on its October agenda.

Mr. Dennis Gade, 2778 Longspur Way, stated that after the January meeting, he
monitored the open gate. Each time it was found open, he filed a complaint with the Code
Enforcement Officer via voice mail. The Code Enforcement Officer met with the Center's
management, but to date, the problems have not been taken care of. He hoped the Council
could get the management to comply with the residents' requests. He also complained of street
sweeper noise.

Kathryn Stephens, 2793 Longspur Way, lives across the street but facing the area. The
lights and noise are affecting her household.

Nancy Pazzebon, 2808 Longspur Way, commented that the gate is not being closed and
that there was a lot of noise from the sweepers and cleaners. Her bedroom is close to the fence,
so the sweepers vibrate the wails. She would like decibel checks. She had called to complain,
but got no response. The floodlights are too bright and prohibit her family from using the
television in the family room because of glare. Her bedroom looks like daylight in the evening
from the floodlights. She asked Council to look into this problem.

Lisa Hunt, 2790 Longspur Way, felt the noise is exceptionally loud. She felt it unfair
to ailow the commercial businesses to invade their lives with the noise, lights and congestion.
The gate issue needs to be resolved. She found children swinging on the gate and had been
unable to tell if the trucks and equipment are there for business purposes, of if the Police should
be called.

Ms. Michelotti asked that a special request be made to the owner of the shopping center
to be present at the meeting in October to address these issues.

(b) Traffic ContrOl

Pat Murray, 4470 Mirador Drive, asked Council to consider better traffic control when
major fairground events, like the Scottish games, end.

(c) Convention and Visitors Bureau

Linda Lammers, President of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, introduced Lisa Dial,
the Bureau's new Executive Director. She comes from the Napa Valley CVB and has a strong
background in CVB management as well as regional sales, and marketing skills.

09/05/95 -5 -
