Item 6~,
Review of the Final General Plan Steerins, Committee Recommendations for Updating, the
Pleasanton General Plan. (SR95:287)

Mayor Tarvet stated that the purpose of this item is to establish the scope of the
environmental document and talk about what things are to be included, anything that might be
missing, options, and/or a need to have something referred back to committee.

Wayne Rasmussen, Principal Planner, presented the staff report.

Ms. Dennis commented on the Vineyard Corridor. She thought agricultural zoning in
Pleasanton was one unit per five acres. She asked if rural density/agricultural is one unit per
five acres?

Mr. Rasmussen stated that it would be the very smallest parcel size that could be
approved in an agricultural zone.

Ms. Michelotti asked for clarification on the proposed density definitions.

Mr. Rasmussen replied that high density would go down to four units per acre. The
medium density would be two to four units per acre and high density would be four units and
above.

Ms. Mohr questioned whether the best time for a review of the West Las Positas
interchange is after all the EIR data is in.

Mr. Rasmussen replied that the Steering Committee recommendation (as to that
interchange) would actually be translated into a General Plan program and assuming that gets
approved by the Council, then a committee would be assembled after the General Plan is
updated. Then the environmental and economic analysis would be conducted for the
interchange.

Ms. Michelotti commented that this interchange will remain on the General Plan and it
is not recommended that the West Las Positas interchange be removed from the General Plan.

Mr. Rasmussen stated that the Committee felt the interchange should be deleted, but it
did not recommend that at this time.

Ms. Mohr asked what the average single-family density is in a typical subdivision in
Pleasanton. The General Plan policy has used the median of the range and this will significantly
change the current make up of the City.

09/05/95 -15-
