MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 7, 1995 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2, ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> Acting City Clerk Susan A. Maas called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Karin Mohr, Thomas P. Pico, <br />Jr. and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; <br />Michael H. Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Bill Van Gelder, Traffic Engineer and Roger Higdon, Assistant Director of Public <br />Works. <br /> <br />3- AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta stated that she had received phone calls regarding the proposed resolution <br />providing for the partial distribution of the NPID #1 surplus funds. She felt, based on the <br />questions she had received, that the affected community had not received adequate notice on this <br />item. She recommended that Item 4g be continued. <br /> <br /> ~. OPEN TO PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Lights on the Driving Range <br /> <br /> Dave Jones, 1605 Rose Avenue, stated that the lights that were installed for the driving <br /> range are too bright. The trees block a bit of the light but overall the homes on Rose Avenue <br /> are brightly lit from the lights. He contacted fairgrounds representatives and they promised <br /> some mitigation but there are no guarantees on what will be done. He asked that the Liaison <br /> Committee get together and approach the fairgrounds about this issue. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti stated that she and Ms. Dennis are Liaison Committee members and are <br /> trying to set up a meeting but did not have a date confirmed at this time. <br /> <br /> 08/07/95 -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
