Mayor Tarver asked if the expanded parking would be able to accommodate the use <br />expected from the new 50 meter pool in addition to use of the existing facilities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Petta indicated total parking will double, partially in Phase I and again in Phase II. <br /> <br /> Steve Webb, 7676 Fair Oaks Drive, represented the Sea Hawks Teams and was there to <br />show support for the 50 meter pool. He thanked the Task Force and the Park and Recreation <br />Commission for recommending approval of the aquatic center. <br /> <br /> The following swim team members spoke in support of the new pool: Catherine Coler, <br />Scan Reid, Jenny Lees, Jonathan Idle, Michelle Farmer, Kelly Kramer, Amy Weber, Betsy <br />Hansen and Christine Park. <br /> <br /> Sherry Morse, 2311 Corte De La Jara, indicated the competitive swim groups understand <br />that parking problems can exist and want to be sensitive to the problem. She felt the swim <br />meets work in a highly controlled environment and that includes working with the neighbors <br />when the parking situation is a real challenge. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver wanted to be sure there were no neighborhood problems and urged <br />completion of Phase II parking as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Tarver, and seconded by Ms. Dennis, to approve acceptance of <br />Swimming Pool Task Force Final Report; and to approve the recommended pool site and <br />program, with the provision to try to accommodate, within the budget, additional parking. <br /> <br />The roll Call vote was a~ follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarvet <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 6b <br />Review and Approval of Concept C as the Amended Master Plan for Pleasanton Tennis and <br />Community Park, Phase HI (SR95:142) <br /> <br /> Ms. Bengtson presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> David Evans, of Singer and Hodges, further described Concept C and pointed out the <br />differences from the 1985 plan. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr asked if there were any recreational trends that are taking place and asked if <br />in-line skating, which seems popular now, might be only a temporary fad. <br /> <br />05/09/95 -4- <br /> <br /> <br />
