Mr. Pico then expressed his objections to item 4d, Lot Line Adjustment 94-9, exchange <br />of property with Alameda County Flood Control, Zone 7. This item was moved to Item 10g. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico requested that the draft letter prepared for item 4i, Request to Legislative <br />Representatives for support of inter-city passenger rail, be amended to include endorsement of <br />the Capital Corridor project and Amtrak. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Mohr <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver expressed his appreciation for the service of members of the Economic <br />Development Advisory Committee who have left the Committee. Commendations were prepared <br />for: Robert Cordtz, Guy Hensley, Terry Roberts, Jim Willis, Dick Howard, Janet Yarbrough, <br />and Maudalene Marshall. <br /> <br /> Frank Capilla, representing the Building Industry Association, presented the "Partnership <br />in Building" Award to Gary Smith, Director of the Building Inspection Department, in <br />appreciation of his cooperation and service to those in the building industry. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver presented commendations to the coaches and members of the Foothill High <br />School Varsity Football team in acknowledgment of its winning the North Coast Section <br />Championship for the second consecutive year. Members of the Council expressed their <br />appreciation and pride in the achievements of the team. <br /> <br /> Dorene Paradiso, 3168 Paseo Granada, referred to possible discussions regarding the <br />allocation of funds and formation of a Youth Council. She wanted to make certain all <br />discussions were done in an open meeting. <br /> <br /> Wilson Powell, repeated his belief that the City has not responded to his prior <br />correspondence. Mayor Tarvet indicated the City Manager is in the process of drafting another <br />letter regarding this issue. <br /> <br /> Bruce Fiedler, Administrator for Pleasanton Gardens, acknowledged the efficiency of the <br />storm drains near Pleasanton Gardens. However, he was concerned about the creek and <br />presented pictures showing St. Mary's Creek at capacity.
