This item was continued to 2/7/95.

d. This item was discussed later in the agenda.

e. Approve a Contract for Services with the Livermore/Pleasanton Umpires'
Association. (SR 95: 15)

f. Adopt Ordinance No. 1645, adjusting speed limit on Pleasanton Avenue from 35
mph to 30 mph.

g. Adopt Ordinance No. 1646, approving the application of First Deposit
Corporation for a major modification to an approved PUD, as filed under Case
PUD-80-16-4M.

h. This item was continued to 2/7/95.

i. Approve letter to Legislative representatives requesting support for intercity
passenger rail. (SR 95:28)

Greg Evans, 5610 Paseo Navarro, requested Council to remove item 4h, Approval of
Final Map, Improvement Plans, and Subdivision Agreement for Tract 6593, Garden Village,
because the approval would include location of a park adjacent to the proposed Stoneridge
Elementary School site. He still believes the Stoneridge site is not the appropriate place for the
next elementary school. Mr. Evans was concerned that Council approval of this plan is
premature because efforts are still underway to encourage the School Board to change the site.

Mr. Pico requested that this item be continued to the next meeting. Discussion ensued
among Council about whether to hear public testimony at this time.

Douglas Craw, with Standard Pacific of Northern California, the applicant, objected to
continuing the item. He met with School District representatives last week regarding the school
site. His concern is that the project was mapped and designed pursuant to the City's direction.
If the school or park is not built at this location, it is a City decision. He indicated the map can
be changed as the City directs and he was anxious to begin his project.

Mr. Pico reiterated his desire to continue the item in order to discuss further options and
his concerns with the project.

The City Attorney cited the Council Rules and Procedures which indicated a
councilmember can request an item to be continued.

01/17/95
-2-
