Approve the request from Edward and Beverly Zimmermann for a water <br /> connection for their-residence located at 753 Kilkare Road; approve the Water <br /> Service Agreement; authorize the City Manager to execute the Water Service <br /> Agreement; and direct staff to file an application with LAFCO for the extension <br /> of City services to the Zimmermann residence. Approve Amendment No. 1 to contract with John Carollo Engineers for <br /> consultant services for inspection of Ruby Hill pump station and reservoir and <br /> authorize the City Manager to execute the contract amendment. (SR 95:08) <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver presented a plaque to Dorothy Scribner with the Key to the City with <br /> special mention of the Downtown as a living legacy of her service. The other members of the <br /> Council expressed their appreciation and good wishes to Ms. Scribner. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner presented a small gift to welcome Sharrell Michelotti to the Council. She <br />A. stated that memories of yesterday and dreams of tomorrow make us what we are today. She <br /> stated she has many happy memories of her service on the Council. She thanked Council for <br /> the Key to the City and for the freedom she was allowed in working toward the downtown <br /> revitalization. She thanked staff for its support and especially the City Manager. Ms. Scribner <br /> thanked the citizens of Pleasanton for allowing her to serve and that is a cherished part of her <br /> memories. <br /> <br /> 5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Lola Baggett, representing the Convention and visitors Bureau, presented the toufism <br /> video ("Seeing is Believing"), which recently won the first place award from the Western <br /> Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus. She indicated Pleasanton has the second <br /> smallest Convention and Visitors Bureau in the western states and the fact that it has won two <br /> first place awards in the last two years has really brought positive attention to Pleasanton. Ms. <br /> Baggett expressed appreciation for those who participated financially in producing the video. <br /> <br /> · Dorene Paradiso, 3168 Paseo Granada, referred to the previous Council action awarding <br /> ' $20,000 to the Foothill High School Band and $5'7000 to Friday Night Live Committee. She <br /> objected to organizations appealing directly to Council and believed it was unfair to those <br /> organizations that follow procedures by going through the Human Services Commission. She <br /> believed a loan to the Foothill Band would have been more appropriate and the Friday Night <br />-- Live Committee should have been directed to the Human Services Commission application <br /> <br /> 01/03/95 <br /> -3- <br /> <br /> <br />
