Mr. Pico felt those decisions could be made at the time the land is declared surplus.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: CouncilmembersAyala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTAIN: None.

Ms. Acosta commented that the City has been deferring Mr. Ciesielski's removing his wood
from the property until a decision was made whether the property was surplus. In the interim, the
City will now proceed to have the wood removed.

Mayor Tarver said he had talked to Mr. Ciesielski about waiting to remove the wood until a
decision was made. He felt it was appropriate to let him know at this point that the wood needed to
be removed.

Item 6d
AP-99-02 (Z-99-25, Edward and Diane Churka)
Appeal of the Planning Commission's approval of the modification to the building window
treatment for the previously approved Coffee Roast Express building under construction at
780 Main Street. Zoning for the property is C-C (Central-Commercial)~ Downtown
Revitalization, Core Area Overlay District. (SR99:093)

Brian Swift presented the staff report.

Ms. Ayala asked if the wood window would look like the aluminum window that has
already been installed?

Mr. Swift said the original approval was for a wood window. Mr. Churka asked to modify
it to a metal window and staffapproved it because staff believed that it would be the same design as
the wood window. It is the same design, has the same sash, casing, etc, however it has an integral
trim that is 1½ inches wide that is usually put on stucco buildings. This is why it appears narrower
than the traditional trim. The trim piece is part of the window and cannot be removed. If the
window was built as a wood window, the trim could be removed and replaced with a wider trim.

Ms. Ayala understood the wood window would look different.

Mr. Swift said a wood window with a 1 ~-inch stucco mold or shingle mold would look
exactly as the window that was put in.

Pleasanton City Council 13 04/6/99
Minutes
