MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver presented the National Family Week proclamation to Arthur Morley, <br />President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Pleasanton Stake. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver presented a commendation to Corrine Mavridis in recognition of the <br />Soroptimists International 75th birthday and 40th anniversary of the Pleasanton chapter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti recognized Randy Preston on his achievement of becoming an Eagle <br />Scout. <br /> <br /> Jocelyn Combs, 5151 Greentree Court, announced that tonight during the screening of <br />the movie "Speed" on Channel 2, a bus will be given away and an 800 number will be shown <br />for people to call in support of a request for a bus for the Amador Valley High School Band. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />Item 6a <br />AP-96-09 (UP-96-52/Z-96-195, East Bay Regional Park Distri¢!t <br />Appellant: Don Hckett, President of the Shadow Cliffs Home0wners <br />Appeal of the decision of the Planning Commission approving Case UP-960521Z-96-195, for <br />a conditional use permit to operate 25 recreational vehicle campsites and design review <br />approval to pave an 857 parking space parking lot in the Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation <br />Area. The 298-acre park is located south of Stanley Boulevard approximately 3,600 feet <br />east or the intersection of Stanley Boulevard and Bernal Avenue. Zoning for the property <br />is P (Public and Institutional) District. (SR96:326) <br /> <br /> Brian Swift presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Don Pickett, 2823 E1 Capitan Drive, President of the Shadow Cliffs Homeowners <br />Association, presented a petition with over two hundred signatures opposing the proposal. He <br />objected to the public notice procedures because the homeowners had only five days notice <br />before the Planning Commission meeting and this issue had been before the East Bay Regional <br />Park District since April, when a citizens task force had made the decision to have recreational <br />vehicle spaces in the park.
