The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers- Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Commendation of Retiring Commissioners <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver commended Valerie Hurst, who is leaving the Human Services <br /> Commission, and presented a plaque to her. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti stated Human Services was synonymous with Valerie because everything <br /> she does is for people and thanked Ms. Hurst for her service. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver thanked other retiring commissioners who could not be present at the <br /> meeting: Patty Picco, Ruth Sparks, Juhi Yajnik, Kristin Kearl, and Ken Mercer. <br /> <br /> Oath Of Office <br /> <br /> The City Clerk administered the oath of office to the following newly appointed and <br /> reappointed Commissioners: Human Services Commissioners Charles Deckert, Tim Neal, and <br />" Julie Testa; Affordable Housing Commissioner Larry Levin; Library Commissioners Ralph Levy <br /> and Terry Roberts; Youth Commissioners Regina Green and Matthew Beck; Civic Arts <br /> Commissioner Rudolph Johnson; and Jerry Lemm, Economic Development Advisory <br /> Committee. <br /> <br /> Presentation to Pleasanton Unified School District <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver presented the 1996 Education Quotient Blue Ribbon Award to <br /> Superintendent Bill James and members of the Pleasanton Unified School District Board of <br /> Trustees. This Award represents excellence in education on a modest budget. <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Bruce Fiedler, Administrator of Pleasanton Gardens, commended Councilmember Mohr <br /> for her interest in and efforts for the elderly residents of Pleasanton Gardens. He also approved <br /> of the staff report regarding St. Mary' s Creek and expressed concern about maintenance of other <br /> water courses by property owners at the upper part of the watershed. <br /> <br /> Dyanne Klinko, 1144 Harvest Road, presented an anti-graffiti proposal for consideration <br /> and offered to work with the Police Department to discourage graffiti.
