5, MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Roger Smith, 6344 Alisal Street, referred to the proposed survey of South Pleasanton
residents by the Alisal Improvement Club. Because the City staff also wanted to conduct a
survey, it was decided that the Alisal Improvement Club survey would not be done with the
understanding that the underlying data would be made available. He wanted that information
before the neighborhood meeting scheduled for July 30.

Mr. Tarver believed the intention was to release all data at the July 30 meeting. It is a
very complex survey because of the broad questions, and it is taking a lot of staff time to
compile the data.

Mr. Smith wanted to work in parallel with the City staff so that the Alisal Improvement
Club could be prepared for the July 30 meeting.

Mr. Bocian stated the information will be made available July 30.

Kay Ayala, 4515 Gatetree Circle, reminded the community of all the time spent by
Councilmembers at local and regional meetings in addition to the regular Council meetings. She
appreciated the remarks about not rushing the General Plan. She felt the Council and the staff
appeared exhausted and did not think good decisions could be made in that climate. She asked
Council to reflect on its decisions and to make sure they are best for the decision overall. She
also felt the San Francisco issue was being rushed as was the sewer issues. Staff can only do
so much. She appealed to Council to give thought to the health of Pleasanton in general.

Michael Goodwin, 1630 Vineyard, complained about the "trailers" in front of City Hall.

Mr. Bocian indicated it was a modular building which was being installed to solve space
problems because the City did not have the funds to build a new city hall at this time.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS

Item 6a
Administrative Citations and Remedies Ordinance. (SR96:208)

Michael Roush presented the staff report.

Mr. Pico wanted to know the source of the ordinance.

Mr. Roush responded that the ordinance is composed of several ordinances, but primarily
from the City of San Jose. The staff proposed the adoption of this ordinance in response to
concerns from citizens that the current process is too cumbersome or too slow.

07/16/96 -11-
