There are still no details for this project. She believed the <br /> advisory measure is worded loosely enough that future Councils will still have flexibility to <br /> respond to future projects. <br /> <br /> Council discussed whether to require the nonprofit corporation to pay to have this <br /> measure on the ballot and the consensus was not to charge it. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr asked when the $30,000 loan would be repaid by the PRA. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush indicated the money is due within 12 to 18 months from its payment to <br /> Alameda County for the environmental process. There are provisions for the whole amount to <br /> be forgiven if certain circumstances arise. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti supported the concept even though she did not want it to go to the voters. <br /> Mr. Pico indicated he would like to participate in the argument in favor of the measure. <br /> <br /> Item 6b <br /> Ballot Measure to Establish Limitations on Terms of Office for Mayor and <br /> Councilmembers. (SR96:167) <br /> <br /> Michael Roush presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr asked if charter cities with similar term limits allowed a councilmember to go <br /> off the Council and then run for office again in a couple of years. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush said it depends on the Charter of each city. <br /> <br /> Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, opposed limiting the service of good <br /> councilmembers. He proposed a third option "Shall an ordinance be adopted to limit an elected <br />" official to eight years of office."
