(3R96: 123) <br /> <br /> Due to lack of time, this item was continued to June 4, 1996. <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY CQI. TNCIL <br /> Ms. Dennis asked when the reports would be coming forth regarding f'trearm regulations. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush indicated there has been a great deal of interest in this issue from East Bay <br />communities and a group of City Attorneys are meeting on Thursday to discuss a comprehensive <br />approach to gun regulation in Alameda County. There has also been discussion by the Mayors <br />and City Managers regarding this comprehensive approach. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarvet agreed this is a regional issue and we should all be in this together. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr asked staff to pursue restricting truck parking on Franklin. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico referred to the Local Government Commission model ordinance on partnering <br />with the Environmental Protection Agency and Transportation Partners. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr asked if some recognition could be given to Walt Wood, a former City <br />Councilmember. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver thanked staff for cutting the weeds on the median on Vineyard Avenue and <br />asked when the landscaping project would be completed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver referred to the conference he had just attended regarding "Transformation <br />of Local Government" and indicated there were some really great ideas.
