(SR97:311) It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, seconded by Ms. Ayala to continue this item to December 2, 1997. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico and Mayor Tarver. NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Item 6e Application of Bay Area Yellow Cab Company to conduct business in Pleasanton, (SR97:305) Ms. Acosta presented the staff report. She also mentioned the cab company would be willing to change it business name to Bay Area Cab Company, because of the concern about the use of the word "yellow" in the business name. Mayor Tarver declared the public hearing open. Reza Ghorbani, 3596-B Utah Street, owner of the Yellow Cab Company, said his main concern was the use of the word yellow in the business name. Since the applicant has agreed to remove the word yellow, it is no longer a concern. He requested there be a certain amount of differences between the colors of the two cab companies. He said there are many cities that do limit the number of taxi cab companies within a city. He would like Pleasanton to limit the number of cab companies here. Ms. Acosta presented two pictures of the proposed cab colors for the new company. The revised colors show more green on the cabs. Ms. Ayala asked if Mr. Ghorbani's taxis were all yellow.
