Ms. Michelotti said she was serving on the Planning Commission when the entire site
was designated commercial. Kaufman and Broad came in and asked for some of this to be
changed to residential, so the homes that exist could be built. Part of the Kaufman and Broad
plan was to preserve the trees on the north side of Stanley Boulevard. When the Kaufman and
Broad plan came through, she objected to the sound walls. The sound walls have turned out to
be acceptable. She felt the Planning Commission was referring to the development as affordable
housing and the residents should not be offended by the term "affordable housing". She could
not support the entrance off Stanley Boulevard. She asked for the community to participate in
the traffic mitigations as they will help separate the community from the project.

Mr. Pico said he did not support the proposed project. There could be a much better
facility at a gateway into Pleasanton. He said he loved the trees on Stanley Boulevard but would
rather see them cut down before risking the safety of the neighborhood. There had been a
similar project that came before Council but Council did not approve it. He did not see any
difference in this project. He could not support this project because the neighbors objected to
the entrance off Reflections Drive.

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 97-79,
approving a negative declaration for the application of the Pegasus Group for PUD plan
approval as filed under Case PUD-97-06.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Ayala, Dennis, and Michelotti
NOES: Vice Mayor Pico
ABSENT: Mayor Tarver
ABSTAIN: None

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to introduce Ordinance No.
1717, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, approving Case PUD-97-
6 for PUD plan approval, subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit B, but to have the wall
siding per the City's design consultant suggestion.
The roll call vote was a~ f011ow~:
AYES: Councilmembers Ayala, Dennis, and Michelotti
NOES: Vice Mayor Pico
ABSENT: Mayor Tarver
ABSTAIN: None

Pleasanton City Council 15 07/01/97
Minutes
