MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 20, 1997 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She congratulated all the <br />high school graduates from Foothill, Amador, and Village High Schools and wished them well <br />in their endeavors. She said it was always a pleasure to have the youth of Pleasanton observe <br />the Council meetings. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P. Pico, <br />Jr. and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; <br />Michael H. Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Randall A. Lure, Director of Public Works; Steven Bocian, Assistant City <br />Manager; and Nelson Fialho, Assistant to the City Manager. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Item 41, Application to partially close Vineyard Avenue for Triathlon Events beginning <br />in June 1997, is amended to remove the September event. A separate application will be <br />forthcoming for that event. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bocian said copies of the Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program <br />Budget were distributed and a workshop has been scheduled for June 5, 1997 at 6:30 p.m. in <br />the Council Chambers and if necessary, June 9, 1997.
