MEETINQ OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Terry Roberts, 7273 Tulipwood Circle and Sandie Dibiase, 7923 Raccoon Hollow Court,
presented the Mayor and Council with "I Love the Library" buttons.

Judy Fox, 3645 Virgin Island Court, said she was excited about the BART system
coming to Pleasanton, but was disappointed that Wheels was reducing the number of buses that
will run during the day. She said people will not use BART unless it is made convenient. She
said there needed to be a stable transit system available.

Ms. Michelotti said Wheels was not eliminating any buses, the buses would be on call,
and would circulate back to the BART station.

Ms. Ayaia said there would need to be adjustments made to the bus schedules after the
first months.

Stu Wetmore, 3276 Melanie Circle, said he had just recently found out the public was
going to be given access to the Arroyo Mocho for a public bike path. He said in the winter time
with the periodic high flow of water it would present a danger to those riding on an existing bike
path. Mr. Wetmore was concerned about liability passing from Zone 7 to the City. He also felt
the residents who lived by the bike path would have their privacy disturbed. He requested that
prior to the bike path being put in, a notice be sent out to the residents that would be affected.

Karen Ellgas, 3274 Melanie Circle, said she had concerns about the Arroyo Mocho
proposed bike trail. She respectfully requested Council to hold a public hearing on the Arroyo
Mocho bike trail. Her main concerns were that the residents were not notified of this proposed
bike trail, the pending danger to children riding their bikes, security to the homes, privacy being
disturbed, and fire hazard safety. She said the last public hearing on this was in 1993 or 1995.
She requested another public hearing be held that specifically addresses the Arroyo Mocho.

Mayor Tarver asked staff to explain to Ms. Ellgas where in the process this bike path
was.

Pleasanton City Council 5/06/97
Minutes 6
