Item 6g
Adoption of City Council Pro_iect Priorities for 1997/98, (SR97:84)

Steven Bocian presented the staff report.

Ms. Acosta commented that attachment D is the survey Council did.

Mayor Tarver thanked staff for pointing out attachment D. He said he would advocate
the use of attachment D.

Ms. Acosta commented that this ranking was done by the Council independently and the
choice Council has now is to discuss this list among themselves.

Ms. Michelotti commented that attachment D lists the top priorities but in no particular
order.

Ms. Dennis asked how critical the rankings are within the highest priority projects?

Ms. Acosta commented that if there were some constraints, Council could refer to this
list for guidance.

Vie Pelton, 1456 Calle Enrique, would like to see Council devote some time and study
to the banning of cheap "Saturday Night Specials."

Kimberly Rowland, 3650 Locke Court, would like Council to move the gun ordinance
up on the priority list. She handed Council a petition with over 500 signatures in support of this
ordinance. There are twelve dealers in Pleasanton. If this ordinance is ignored, the gun dealers
are not monitored. Guns are unreliable and unsafe. She asked Council to support this ordinance
before someone gets hurt.

Stu Fleck, 3550 Pacific Avenue, supported the gun ban ordinance and would like to see
it moved up on the priority list.

Nora Sabhlek, 4129 Grant Court, would like the Vineyard Avenue realignment moved
up on the priority list.

Mayor Tarver commented the Vineyard Avenue realignment is number five on the
priority list.

Elva Cooper, 1664 Orchard Way, supported the gun ban ordinance and would like it
moved up on the priority list.

Pleasanton City Council 13 3/18/97
Minutes
