Judy Fox, 3645 Virgin Island Court, representing the Valley Trails Homeowners <br />Association, expressed concern regarding the water level in the arroyo near the Bernal Avenue <br />area. As more of the surrounding area is developed, drainage and future flood control could be <br />affected. She believed some improvements needed to be made. <br /> <br /> Joseph Cunningham, 3599 Carlshad Court, presented pictures of the Bernal Avenue <br />bridge to illustrate how high the water level reached and urged Council to proceed with removal <br />of the old bridge abutment. He felt that would remove 41 houses from the flood plain. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lum indicated staff is continuing to work with the various regulatory agencies to get <br />approval to remove the abutment. He indicated improvements planned for inclusion in the San <br />Francisco project will assist in storm drainage and further stated that Zone 7 is conducting an <br />area wide drainage study to make certain fees are adequate to pay for necessary improvements. <br /> <br /> Lynn Beamon, 449 Rose Avenue #11, acknowledged a recent meeting with the Mayor, <br />Mr. Pico and city staff. He wanted reimbursement for his vehicle and watch. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Tarvet, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. <br />97-06, mending the agenda by adding a closed session item to discuss the claim of Mr. <br />Beamon. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers- Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />6. (SR97:25) <br /> <br /> Brian Swift presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala suggested adding the phrase "or other golf course related expertise" to the <br />advertisement for committee members. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver asked if anyone wished to speak on this item. <br /> <br /> Roger Smith, 6344 Alisal Street, believed the development of the golf course included <br />several processes on parallel paths, such as the specific plan and the golf course committee. The <br />specific plan will probably take longer than the committee work. He wanted to make sure that <br />members of the golf course committee would be local residents who have an interest in how the <br /> <br /> 3 2/04/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
