the School's policy. The School District wants to work with the police department jointly on an agreement. Ms. Acosta felt this was an issue that needed more discussion. There are a number of things that can be done jointly. 6. Items of Interest - New Superintendent Dr. McCurtain said the School District has hired CSBA to interview people in the School District and different Schools to find out the type of superintendent they hoped for. Ms. Haugen said the public was sent an invitation via newspapers and school sims to express their concerns and interests regarding the new school superintendent. Mr. Clark said there is a District Liaison Committee that also will be involved in the process. Ms. Haugen said the District Liaison Committee is made up of two administrators, two teachers, two students, two classified employees and. one nominee from each of the five Boardmembers. These people will be doing the interviewing. She mentioned Deborah Acosta is one of the Committee Boardmembers. Ms. Acosta thanked the School District for allowing her to be a part of the process. Ms. McGovern said the five committee members are Deborah Acosta, Jan Batcheider, Art Morley, Vicky Ranky, and Chris Schmit. Ms. Haugen said other committee members are Kevin Johnson and Jane Kateford (two administrators); Mary Romler and Sonya House (two teachers); Ryan Huff and Kim Powers (two students); and Gary Taylor (classified employee). She said this group will be interviewing the candidates and will make a recommendation based on the candidates' strengths. Ms. Ayala felt the School District had done a wonderful outreach job. Ms. McGovern asked if the brochure could be shared with the City Council and staff. Ms. Haugen said yes. She also mentioned the position is being advertised in national news journals for administrators and throughout California in order to get a broad base of people as possible.
