the School's policy. The School District wants to work with the police department jointly on <br />an agreement. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta felt this was an issue that needed more discussion. There are a number of <br />things that can be done jointly. <br /> <br />6. Items of Interest - New Superintendent <br /> <br /> Dr. McCurtain said the School District has hired CSBA to interview people in the School <br />District and different Schools to find out the type of superintendent they hoped for. <br /> <br /> Ms. Haugen said the public was sent an invitation via newspapers and school sims to <br />express their concerns and interests regarding the new school superintendent. <br /> <br /> Mr. Clark said there is a District Liaison Committee that also will be involved in the <br />process. <br /> <br /> Ms. Haugen said the District Liaison Committee is made up of two administrators, two <br />teachers, two students, two classified employees and. one nominee from each of the five <br />Boardmembers. These people will be doing the interviewing. She mentioned Deborah Acosta <br />is one of the Committee Boardmembers. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta thanked the School District for allowing her to be a part of the process. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern said the five committee members are Deborah Acosta, Jan Batcheider, <br />Art Morley, Vicky Ranky, and Chris Schmit. <br /> <br /> Ms. Haugen said other committee members are Kevin Johnson and Jane Kateford (two <br />administrators); Mary Romler and Sonya House (two teachers); Ryan Huff and Kim Powers (two <br />students); and Gary Taylor (classified employee). She said this group will be interviewing the <br />candidates and will make a recommendation based on the candidates' strengths. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala felt the School District had done a wonderful outreach job. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern asked if the brochure could be shared with the City Council and staff. <br /> <br /> Ms. Haugen said yes.
