in its budget. It would help to have a list of projects that the School District can budget for. <br />The Liaison Committee meeting quarterly would help address some of these issues. She also <br />wanted to ensure that the public knows what is being discussed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti said the public is always welcome, and announced the committee meets <br />the third Thursday at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala said the committee has reached out to the public. <br /> <br /> Ms. Haugen understood the meetings am held early. She just wanted to ensure that the <br />community, City Council, and the School Board are all involved in the open meeting process. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala felt the quarterly meetings would ensure the open meeting process. She said <br />there are summary notes from every meeting available for public review. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis suggested putting the agenda and minutes on the web site. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern said they could be put on the School Districts web site also. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti said things that have been discussed at the Liaison Committee meetings <br />have been brought back during a public forum. <br /> <br /> Ms. Haugen felt the staff reports for the joint meetings were great. She felt the meetings <br />were very beneficial. She just wanted to ensure the community's involvement. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico agreed the concept was great. He had a concern with holding a meeting in <br />December. He asked if the meeting could be moved to another month. <br /> <br /> Ms. Haugen said the School Board annual conference is also held in December and this <br />would make it difficult for someone to attend meetings. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala suggested having the meeting in January. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Haugen, to hold Liaison Committee <br />quarterly meetings in September, January, March and May to look at priorities. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers- Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, and Pico. <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Tarver <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Joint Meeting 19 06/04/98 <br />School Board/City Council <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
