The stone <br />wall running the length of her yard has rotated and slipped off its foundation moving forward <br />to a depth of one and one-half feet crushing a Japanese Maple and other trees. The fence <br />separating the two properties is twisted and on its side. Above her house the property has <br />dropped one and one-half feet. The storm drains that are located above the hill were operating <br />adequately but she figured with all the storms they could not handle the overflow. She contacted <br />Mr. Higdon of Public Works and he assured her that someone would come out and look at this. <br />As of today, no one has contacted her. She appealed to the Council for some resolution to this <br />problem. <br /> <br /> Randall Lum said staff has been out at that location on several occasions to review what <br />is occurring there. It is clear that the hill is very saturated. Although the stress is on private <br />property, staff is taking steps to retain a geotechnical engineer to perform further evaluation of <br />the site. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala asked if there had been any problems in this area before. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lum said the area has reported water problems in the past, but not to this extent. <br />Some areas of the city, because of the heavy rains, are very saturated. This is one of those <br />areas and the city is taking steps to try to resolve the problem. <br /> <br /> Thomas Benigno, 6546 Cottingwood Circle, Dublin, had concerns about the operation <br />of the Farmers' Market. He started a private group "Citizens Voice" to organize farmers and <br />citizens against Farmer Markets. He felt those Farmers Markets' were taking business away <br />from local farmers and grocers. Some of these operations are supposed to be privately funded <br />but he discovered they are receiving funds from the federal government. Another concern he <br />had was the Farmers Markets' selling produce from other countries. <br /> <br />6.
