partnership, which was not easy to put together. It requires that ACE be very flexible in dealing
with all the issues that come up for each of the communities. She said ACE is very committed
to working out these issues and would like to do this jointly with the community.

Bill Scholz, 2014 Lydia Street, Escalon, President of Train Riders Association, said
transportation and mobility are one of the most important qualities of life. He felt the real estate
prices near the train station would only increase. People want to be within walking distance of
the stations and this would be a good asset for the community. He urged Council to support the
project.

Teresa Yang, 1847 Zenato Place, said she spends three hours on the road each day
commuting to Silicon Valley. She moved to Pleasanton because of the quality of life. The only
thing negative is the commute. She supported the commuter train. She talked to a real estate
agent who said the property values would go up with the commuter train. She did not care
where the station was, as long as it was in Pleasanton. She urged Council to support the station.

Ms. Ayala asked if she would drive to the train station.

Ms. Yang said she would probably car pool with her neighbors.

Vaughn Wolff, 1798 Peru Court, felt Council should do everything in its power to make
this station a success. The interim station is probably the only choice at this point. He
suggested a train station at Sunol and 1-680. He believed the station would be more successful
than the current BART station, since the trains have more capacity and travel at higher speeds.
Plus it is going to a place that currently has 850,000 jobs that is anticipated to grow to 1.2
million jobs. He said the train will provide transportation to those people that live here as well
as a way for people who do not to get through Pleasanton. He said the property values in
Atherton have not gone down and it has double train tracks running through it. He said there
might be a need to have two stations, one at either end of town. He said Pleasanton definitely
needed to have this train. The traffic is only going to get worse and worse. If you make the
station so people can get to it, they will use it. He was in favor of the station and hoped
Council was too.

Mike Bivens, 443 Saint Mary Street, said he was not opposed to the train station. He
thought it was a great idea. His concern is where the station might end up. He did not believe
the downtown area had adequate streets to accept the amount of traffic that would be driving to
the station. He felt the interim location was a perfect spot for now but not for a long term
station. He said the traffic from the San Francisco development is going to add to the
circulation problem in Pleasanton. The San Francisco property would be a better spot but he
did not agree with putting the station near the sports park. He agreed with putting a station at
Sunol and 1-680 because there would be easy access from the freeway.
