Mayor Tarver asked if Mr. Cordtz had submitted his concerns to the Fair Board and to
the Board of Supervisors because they are the bodies that would ultimately adopt the strategic
plan.

Mr. Cordtz suggested cutting off services until an agreement could be reached that
benefitted everyone. He felt the Council did not care about the citizens that lived by the railroad
tracks.

Mayor Tarver said Council felt the Liaison Committee would have success in working
with the Fair Board.

Ms. Acosta said, as to the code enforcement issue, under the agreement between the City
and the County, it was decided that either the City or the County would be identified to enforce
the code. The process is positively moving forward.

Ms. Michelotti asked if the staff report could be sent along with the letter.

Mr. Swift said yes.

Mayor Tarver said it would be helpful to incorporate as much information in the report
as possible to communicate the concerns that persist. He said it was difficult to get the County
to agree to letting the City participate. Council believed the process would work.

Mr. Cordtz said when he attended the Altamont Board meeting he discovered the fare
schedule discrepancies. He mentioned several other things that did not make sense.

Ms. Ayala asked if he attended the Fair Board meetings? She suggested he contact the
Liaison Committee.

Mr. Cordtz said he did not know when the meetings were.

Ms. Acosta said staff will try to notify Mr. Cordtz of the meetings.

There was a consensus to direct staff to send the draft letter in the staff report along
with all backup information.

Item 6f
Review a LAVW1VIA proposal for development of a public information program for the
proposed wastewater disposal expansion pro. leer. (SR98:23)

This item was continued to February 3, 1998.

Pleasanton City Council 1/20/98
Minutes 24
