MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 18, 1998 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She said Pleasanton has <br />been her home for twenty-three years. One thing she has found that Pleasanton is about is <br />strong community support and rising to the occasion to meet the needs of the community. She <br />mentioned the Olsen family tragedy. She commended the community for its support and <br />participation in helping the Olsen family. She announced that on September 12 there will be a <br />huge barbecue at the Alameda County fairgrounds to do some fund raising for the family and <br />invited the entire community to attend and help out. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, and Mayor Ben <br />Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Steven Bocian, Assistant <br />City Manager; Larissa Seto, Assistant City Attorney; Brian W.
