David Victor, Outback Pub and Grill, spoke about the proposed Main Street Party events <br /> and indicated they are strictly geared for the Main Street merchants. The first date is <br /> Wednesday, August 5th, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; the next ones will be in September, October <br /> and November on the first Wednesday of the month. There are no vendors from out of town. <br /> <br /> There being no further speakers, the public hearing was closed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti commented about the involvement in the Downtown Association and <br />commended the activities. For those who felt the PDA was not a benefit, she urged them to <br />reach out and participate in the Downtown Association. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. <br />98-105, accepting the Pleasanton Downtown Business Improvement District Advisory Board <br />Report and Budget and levying the assessment for 1999. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Councilmember Pico <br /> <br />Item 6e <br />Zone 7 Water Connection Fee increase (SR98: 198) <br /> <br /> Randall Lum presented the Staff Report. <br /> <br /> Vince Wong, Assistant General Manager of Zone 7, presented slides illustrating the <br />rational for the proposed water service connection increases. The Zone 7 Board will meet <br />tomorrow to consider the water service connection increases. If approved, the new fee will be <br />effective October 1. He related the various presentations that were made to advise the <br />community of the proposal. The water expansion program is to provide for future water <br />demands that are projected for buildout under the Dublin, Pleasanton and Livemore General <br />Plans. Expansion costs are borne solely by new development. Water service will continue <br />under the same standards of quality and reliability. He related a brief history of water supply, <br />connection charges and infrastructure costs. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis questioned the intent to serve 280,000 people and asked what that included? <br /> <br /> Mr. Wong stated that included Livermore, Pleasanton, and Dublin buildout plans for East <br />Dublin, North Livermore and Pleasanton to the year 2020.
