MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Councilmember Pico presented Ben Santer, a physicist at the Lawrence Livermore <br />National Laboratory, with a plaque and recognized his work with his colleagues at .the Lab's <br />Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison in which they authored a portion of <br />a United Nations report concluding that human activity had a discernible influence on global <br />climate change. The report now serves as a scientific foundation for international discussions <br />on reducing greenhouse emissions.
