CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver called the Transportation Workshop of the City Council to order at <br />6:37 p.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P. Pico, <br />Jr. and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; <br />Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works; and Bill van Gelder, Traffic Engineer. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver indicated Item 4, oral update on TVTC Measure B and Federal <br />Transportation Issues had been added to the agenda. <br /> <br />4. STATUS REPORT ON THE COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE STUDY OF <br /> THE NEED FOR THE 1-680/WEST LAS POSITAS INTERCHANGE <br /> <br /> Randall Lum said the workshop will cover two items: 1) status report on the <br />Community Advisory Committee study of the need for the 1-680/West Las Positas Interchange <br />and 2) a presentation by Caltrans on the proposed 1-580 ramp metering. He gave a status report <br />on Measure B reauthorization, the TVTC development fee, and the Federal ISTEA <br />reauthorization. He said in June the Alameda County voters will have the opportunity to vote <br />on whether to extend the 1/2 cent sales tax measure for transportation, Measure B, which <br />expires in 2002. This renewed tax, if passed, would generate $1.1 billion over fifteen years to <br />finance a wide range of highway and transit projects and programs in Alameda County. For the <br />Tri-Valley these projects include Highway 84, an auxiliary lane on 1-580, east of Santa Rita, <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 05/21/98 <br /> <br /> <br />
