Resolution No. 88-54 <br /> Page Two <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, variance applications of this nature are exempt from the <br /> requirements of the California Environmental Quality <br /> Act; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The City Council denies the appeal of Case V-87-30 <br /> and therefore upholds the decision of the Board of <br /> Adjustment approving the application of Exxon Company <br /> U.S.A. for a variance from the Municipal Code to permit <br /> the installation of a second free-standing sign where <br /> one such sign is permitted and to allow for a <br /> comprehensive signing program to exceed the maximum sign <br /> area permitted for a service station use to be located <br /> at 3192 Santa Rita Road, subject to the following <br /> conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. That the developer apply for and receive design <br /> review approval for the proposed sign program. <br /> <br /> 2. That the free-standing price information sign shall <br /> be located in the landscaping area east of the <br /> proposed West Las Positas Boulevard driveway <br /> entrance to the service station site. <br /> <br /> Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2, 1988 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr,Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> KEN .
