CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. 88-54

RESOLUTION DENYING THE APPEAL AND UPHOLDING THE BOARD OF
ADJUSTMENT APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF EXXON
CORPORATION FOR A VARIANCE REGARDING THE SIGNING PROGRAM
AT 3192 SANTA RITA ROAD (AP-SS-02/V-87-30)

WHEREAS, Exxon Corporation applied for approval of a variance
from the Municipal Code to permit the installation of a
second free-standing sign where one such sign is
permitted and to allow for a comprehensive signing
program to exceed the maximum sign area permitted for a
service station use to be located at 3192 Santa Rita
Road (V-87-30); and

WHEREAS, the Board of Adjustment approved the application on
January 13, 1988 with various conditions; and

WHEREAS, this decision was appealed by the City Council so they
could review the application totally; and

WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held before the City
Council on February 2, 1988 at which time all pertinent
testimony and documents were reviewed; and

WHEREAS, after a review of the material presented, the City
Council makes the following findings:

a.
