Resolution No. 88-23 <br /> Page Two <br /> <br /> F. Dar-Nel Construction has prepared a price quote for <br /> the Police Station computer room in the amount of <br /> $99,500. City staff has determined that the bid is <br /> reasonable under the circumstances. Dar-Nel <br /> Construction has been required to contact and <br /> obtain quotes from multiple subcontractors as to <br /> the major subcontracted item for work, the <br /> electrical, and air conditioning portion of the <br /> job, in order to preserve to the extent feasible <br /> the benefits of competitive bidding for the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The City Council finds pursuant to the Public <br /> Contracts Code Section 20168 that the public interest <br /> and necessity demand the immediate expenditure of public <br /> money to safeguard substantial public property based <br /> upon the findings set forth in the recitals of this <br /> resolution. <br /> <br /> Section 2: The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract <br /> with Dar-Nel construction for consideration of the <br /> Police Station computer room addition and to take other <br /> actions necessary to bring about completion of the job. <br /> <br /> Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JANUARY 19, 1988 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE <br /> WHICH IS AT LEAST A FOUR-FIFTHS VOTE OF THE COUNCIL: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> ATTEST: E~T~H~.~/~~ <br /> KEN MERCER, MAYOR <br /> <br />//James R.
