Task 5. Prepare Bid Documents for Three Phases of Construction

It is understood that the City intends to build this project
in three phases consisting of approximately one-third of the
project each. The first phase is to be bid in 1988, with
phases 2 and 3 to follow in 1989 and 1990 respectively.

Based on the approved project phasing program, we will
prepare bid specifications and a schedule of probable
construction costs for the three phases of construction. We
will incorporate one set of comments from the City staff
into the bid documents prior to final approval.

Task 6. Construction Bid Services

We will furnish the City with "original quality" mylar
drawings and bid documents for separate printing of phase 1,
2 and 3 of the project. The City will be responsible for
printing and distribution of the bid documents.

We will attend the pre-bid conference and be available
during the bidding period to respond to questions from
bidders for phase 1. We will assist the City with
evaluation of bids submitted for phase 1.

Task 7. Construction Services

We propose to provide one set of offset construction stakes
for Phase I wall construction. These stakes will be at 50'
intervals on tangents and 25' intervals on curves. They
will provide for line and grade to the top of the wall
footing.

We have also included 16 hours of staff time in this task to
respond to questions from the City during construction and
to make periodic site visits. Any time needed beyond 16
hours would be performed on a time and materials basis as
extra work.

Geotechnical Services are to be provided to the City by MS
Geotechnical Consultants, Inc. for this project under a separate
agreement between the City and MS Geotechnical. Reimer
Associates will coordinate the services of MS Geotechnical and
incorporate the results of their study into our design.

At this time it is not clear if any right-of-way acquisition
procedures that may include plat mapping, appraisals,
negotiations and coordination with the property owners will be
necessary. We are prepared, if needed, to perform this work as
extra services.

There may be some property owners unable or unwilling to make
necessary changes to accommodate the wall. Again, our team is
prepared to design any needed yard modifications into the
project. Since this work cannot be defined at this time, it
would be performed as extra services.

REIMER ASSOCIATES
